B E Y O N D . pt. 2

God is already B e y o n d .

This is part two of my four part series. Our anchor scripture is: Ephesians 3:20.

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. . .”

So let’s continue. . .

God always goes beyond was where we landed in pt. 1 of this series. God always goes beyond what we think or dream and He delights in going far past what we can do in our own strength, with our own hands.

Today’s truth is:

2. God is already b e y o n d .

No matter where we are, no matter what mighty mountains or obstacles and hardships stand in our way, God is already on the other side. No obstacles are greater than Him; nor are they any match for His power or His strong love.

God is already on the other side. HE holds the victory and now stoops down low to make us great.

Psalm 18:35: “You have given me the shield of your salvation, and your right hand supported me, and your gentleness made me great.”

He stoops down low to make us significant.

Isaiah 55:8-9:

“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord.
    “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.
For just as the heavens are higher than the earth,
    so my ways are higher than your ways
    and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.

I’ve encountered many people that believe that yes, there is a God, but He is so far away, “the big man in the sky”. . .or that He doesn’t bother with us or see our needs, our dreams etc. A lot of people think He is too far away to notice or care about us.

I would say. . .  False.

Yes, His ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts, and He is, above it all, BUT He is NOT Far Away. He is right here beside us. He is not out of our reach. I believe He is closer than we truly recognize.

This morning, as I was preparing to write this blog, I came across Psalm 147:5 in my devotional:

Great is our Lord, and abundant in power;
    his understanding is beyond measure.

Immediately, I would think, yes, His understanding is infinite. He is God. . . but the context and verses surrounding bring light on the goodness, and the nearness of our God.

Psalm 147

Praise the Lord!
For it is good to sing praises to our God;
    for it is pleasant,[a] and a song of praise is fitting.
The Lord builds up Jerusalem;
    he gathers the outcasts of Israel.
He heals the brokenhearted
    and binds up their wounds.
He determines the number of the stars;
    he gives to all of them their names.

Great is our Lord, and abundant in power;
    his understanding is beyond measure.

Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving;
    make melody to our God on the lyre!
He covers the heavens with clouds;
    he prepares rain for the earth;
    he makes grass grow on the hills.
He gives to the beasts their food,
    and to the young ravens that cry.
10 His delight is not in the strength of the horse,
    nor his pleasure in the legs of a man,
11 but the Lord takes pleasure in those who fear him,
    in those who hope in his steadfast love.

The chapter goes on, but the theme remains. God is above and everything aligns at His word, but He is close to us. We are His delight and He provides all we need. He is gracious.

Our God is  b e y o n d  the very thing that is holding us back. He has the final say and His words remain the same.

Have a blessed upcoming week!
